How can CarGurus provide full cost of car transparency from dealers that advertise their cars on CarGurus?
I visited Huntington Nissan on 6/19/19 inquiring about two Rogue SL-AWD Sport vehicles advertised and listed at cost between $19000 and $19650 based different mileage but identical color and trim package. Dealership salesperson Bob Stone presented car and I agreed to the advertised price on CarGurus of $19650 only to be given a deal sheet that included over $2700 in other fees which killed the deal and also fueled the negative persona of car dealerships as "bait and switch' factories. See below:
$750.00 if we do not finance thru them - gave me 5% finance when I told them I can do better with TFCU at 3.59%
$995.00 destination charge - car was already in service as a dealer loaner
$995.00 dealership charge - whats this for - bottom line fluff?
It would be great if CarGurus provided 100% cost transparency as part of their opinion rating on sell price - this deal went from great to shit in a matter of minutes. Very dissappointed especially since I have bought (4) other cars and sold (3) through CarGurus.
