Are there known issues with fuel pumps overheating when gas tank less than 1/4 full

Fuel pump quit. Dealer told me that fuel pumps are cooled by fuel, can get hot if driven for hours with less than 1/4 tank. "known issue:? Any one else hear this?

Thanks for the feed back. Now we will see if the "new and improved" replacement is any better. I was told the new model is "better insulated". Thanks again.
How are you driving for hours if you only have a 1/4 tank? Are you stopping and filling up to a 1/4 every hour?
All of my cars can go at least 2 hours on a 1/4 tank.
