Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hey Gurus,
Wondering if I could put a set of 225/60/16
winter tires on my 2017 Subaru Outback that
has a 225/65/17 tires on it, the lug nut bolt
pattern is the exact same at 114.3mm.
Let me know! Thanks!

Those tires would be much shorter than what you have now. I would not do it.
I also doubt that 16" wheels will clear your brakes. If you proceed be sure and try them on before buying.
FOR's correct...there'll be a brake caliper issue. You should stick with 17's. 225/60R17 is a better size for handling than the too-tall 225/65, but ya gotta stay with the bigger wheel. 225/55 or 225/60 18 fit perfectly as well, as are used on the Limited iteration. Yes, older OBs used 225/60R16, on 5x100mm smaller hub, around smaller brakesets, if that's what you've hanging around from the past. Sell 'em on Craigslist locally.
