snow tire and rim compatability

Asked by Nevadafrog Oct 22, 2018 at 09:48 AM about the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan GT FWD

Question type: General

I just bought a used 2017 GT Dodge Caravan. Money is tight. Van has P225
65R17s on it. 17" alloys. I have a set of 205/60R16 winter tires that are
virtually new that i had on my Mazda sportwagon. Bolt size is different 114 vs
127, but if i can find 16" rims at a wreckers from an older caravan (I
understand they used to have 16" as standard), are my winter tires
compatible for my caravan? I am thinking maybe they are too narrow for the
additional load? Cold be way off though as I know nothing about tire! Help
please!
