1999 Ford Escort acceleration noise

Hello all, I have a 1999 Ford Escort with 120,000 miles which is making a strange noise: after 10 minutes of driving the car, I hear a rattling/whizzing sound when I try to accelerate-it lasts about 4-5 seconds and then goes away- I can drive with my foot on the gas pedal to about 40 mph but when I go over 45 miles per hour (press down on the gas pedal harder) I hear this noise...., the oil has been changed recently, air filter, etc.- I have no problem accelerating though (just the strange noise) and no service engine soon nor check engine light comes on... Anyone have any idea what might be going on? and any fixes to stop the noise?

you may have a timeing belt going bad,they will shread and string,could be this has happend and it is hitting the timeing cover makeing the noise.

it don't sound like an engine problem to me it sounds like a drive train problem. likely a wheel bearing, or CV joint

Its Your Heat Shield Under Car Its Loose Or Cracked.My 98 escort Makin Same Noise I Looked Under Car And Sure Enough Heat Shield Is Cracked Just To Say Its Not A Safety Issue With That Noise But Without A Proper Heat Shield In Tact You Find More Heat From Under Car Makes The Cabin Heat Up More. Well Good Luck In Future Whoever Reads This :)
