what type of oil should i use for hyundai sonata 2017

Possibly SAE 5W-20. Consult your owner's manual. The correct oil will be shown there. Also, the oil filler cap will usually indicate the correct oil for your Sonata.
The owners manual just states the quantity & it’s opinion to use quacker oil but no oil type & also the cap doesn’t show the type. I would recommend 5w- 20. That’s if you haven’t called where you bought it but the dealership should assist w/ the oil type.

It depends on what size engine you have. If you have a 1.6 the owners manual says 5w-30, 5w-40. For a 2.0, it's anywhere from 20w-50, to a 5w-30-5w-40. For a 2.4, it says 10w-30, 5w-20, or 5w-30
I have a 2016 sonata hybrid 2.0L. book says 5w20 or 5w30 down to -30F. The fill cap says 5w20. Capacity is 4.3 quarts.
I have a Honda Sonata 2013 can I put 5w 20 oil in it
