I have a 1993 Isuzu Trooper LS and need to change the fuel filer. Do I need to take the fuel tank off or can I access the fuel pump while it's still attached?

The fuel filter is located at the back of the fuel tank,but there is a sock filter inside the tank at the fuel pump,if you want to change the sock you will have to drop the tank,but if only changing the inline filter it can be changed without dropping the tank.
