AC compressor replaced?

I own a 2017 Honda Civic got it brand new.

Never had a problem with it until June 2022
89k miles. It started to blow hot air took it to
Honda around July 2022 and they said it was
the AC compressor and quoted me around
$1750+ to get it replaced. Not a cheap fixed
but seen it’s a common problem with these
cars so is their anyway to get this fixed for
less or free possibly?

Also, I have a friend who has the same exact
car as me and they replaced his condenser
and AC compressor for free.

Help me with advice, and thank you in
advance.

Your car has 89K miles on it, unless you have an extended warranty, you are paying for it. You can try and negotiate with the dealer to get the cost down, or contact and or visit an independent garage to get some quotes.
