Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2017 F150 that I purchased new. Based on
gps the odometer is reading about 250 extra every
2000 miles. Has anyone seen this issue?

Should be 17", but I will have to check. I have not changed the tires, so whatever came from the factory.

Get the complete tire size and not just the wheel diameter.

I am not at 35, 545 miles within a year and Ford just acts like I am crazy

Whaat?? What do you mean they blew you off?? You should be able to do GPS comparisons and if you guys have those mileage checks along your highway and record your findings for proof, don't they have to do something for you?! This seems like one hell of a scam to me! I wonder if we can find more people this is happening to. Ours is out even higher that yours. Just pathetic that we need to deal with this garbage on a new truck. Total joke.

At first the shop manager seemed concerned and did a mileage check on the highway, by making sure the odometer recorded a mile based on the highway markers, which it did. Then they talk with Fords engineering, which stated they were not aware of an issue and had no explanation. That was it!! nothing the could do any further. So I am stuck with a one year old truck that will be out of warranty in about 3 days.

Oh man I'd be so pissed. I'm trying to find if there are more of us getting screwed over. My mileage is out by almost 20%. Just insane. I'm keeping logs of travels, locations, mileage (actual/maps/gps/odometer reading etc) with photo and videos so I can go back to them with a full arsenal of facts and they should have no choice but to fix and compensate. I'd keep tabs on yours and collect more info if I were you in case I can get somewhere with this you may have some leverage. Keep a log book.

So originally it was an F150 and now it is an F250? Which is it?

My original post stated my truck was an F150. GuruXZHL7 stated his truck with the same issue is an F250.

My 2011 showed 60000 then the cold killed my battery. Put in a new battery and now the odometer is at 98000. Baffled? Or Bamboozled?

Yes seeing the same issue on my 2013 f150. Mine is saying i drove 4000 miles in less than a month. Which is impossible for me! I bet there are more people with this issue but most people dont notice their od reading.

My 2015 F150 jumped 30,000 then 100,000 now it reads 300,000 miles when it should only be 60,000 miles. Ha a long conversation with Ford and they say it shouldn't be happening but the truck is out of warranty so not their problem. The dealership said the instrument cluster has to be replaced for $800. Ford is not standing behind their trucks!

Anyone ever get an answer for this? My 2017 platinum f150 seems to have gone up 5000km in a month which is literally impossible. Our tires with rim are 20”

2017 F150 Odometer says 115k and i am still on original tires and brakes. I do not see how this is possible and suspect the odometer is wrong

My 2015 F150 just jumped from 89000 to 228000 miles. Right before it did my oil change alert came up but i still had over 2000 miles tile change was needed
