Where do I measure the fuel pressure?

Asked by Avishai Nov 19, 2020 at 01:47 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM Van 1500 Cargo RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey all,

I think my fuel pump is failing.. The engine seem not to get adequate fuel. It
seems to chock. After driving for a while like these it becomes ok, as if
something is clogged, but than works well. Also, the van doesn't seem to
have a lot of power all the time.

I bought a pressure gauge kit. Where is the fuel pump pressure connector
on this 2002 dodge ram 1500 van?

Best,
Avishai

Usually there will be a schrader valve on the fuel rail where you connect the hose.

Thanks. I found it. I had to open the plastic between the driver and passenger that covers the engine from the inside. Then there was easy access to the rail and valve.
