2017 Ford F150 5.0 Starting issues.

Asked by todd Jun 08, 2023 at 06:16 PM about the 2017 Ford F-150 XL 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2017 F150 XL 5.0, 166,000 miles on it having starting and stalling
issues. When I first start the guy in the morning it will eventually start but with
the ford wrench appearing. After about 4-5 starts before driving it, it will start
fine and no wrench symbol or codes. It will run great but somethimes stall at
idle. I have changed the timing components, throttle body, MAP sensor,
crankshaft position sensor, ECU (used and programmed to my VIN), plugs,
coils, O2 sensors and so on. I have taken it to 2 dealers and all they want to
do is replace my engine. I will never take it back to a dealer. There is no
knocking, hesitation, shifting issues...runs great when it starts right. PLEASE
HELP.
