Does anyone have any idea on how to reach tranny pan on a 1999 Ford Explorer?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 1999 Ford
Explorer and I'm trying to
change the tranny filter, only
problem is this particular
model was made with two
catalytic converters. One is
on the side of pan, which is
fine. The other is directly
underneath the tranny pan. I
can't find anyone who can
get to it, and I hate to pay
$300 for something I could
do myself. Was just
wondering if there were any
videos or anything that would
help. Thanks..

For giggles, I climbed under by 99 with the 5.0 engine. It only has one converter and it is on the side of the trans pan and can be accessed. Was this some sort of custom model with duel exhaust? If it's in the way you are going to have to cut it off or find a mechanical junction and remove it.
