my rear hatch will not close and causes my battery to die out. how can I get it to close

Like a door latch that does this see if the latch needs to be flipped, can use a finger. screwdriver ect to spread back apart or rotate the other direction and try it again if you got it correct then good if not try again.

Will the hatch lock/close but not completely? Check the striker on the side. There should be a gray plastic piece around the post. If it is gone, a replacement piece can be purchased from an auto parts store. They only fit the hatch and not the doors. Dorman makes them. Unscrew the striker from the body. Slip the old plastic off, and slide on the replacement piece and reattach. Mark the circumference of striker circle on the body with a marking pen and reattach in the same place. The striker is adjustable back to front. Makes realignment easier.

lid starts to close goes back up horn blows and it stays open nothing is in its way to close
