I have a 1999 Ford Explorer.. my reverse went out but still had drive then about 2 weeks later the drive went out now I have to start in over drive and pop into drive whats wrong...

I went through a mud hole as I was backing out the reverse went out.. then I
was driving about two weeks laopped at a stop sign then wouldnt take off
again.. Had to put in over drive and pop back into drive after I get started...

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? Changed the fluid and filter recently? You can add some Lucas transmission fix and maybe get some more miles out of it but you are likely due for a rebuild.
