Thank you all your help with the freeze plug now
my dilemma is while installing the new one it fell
into the hole what do I do

Check another freeze plug with a magnet. If it is steel it will stick. Purchase a round magnet from a hardware store which will fit into the hole and capable of attaching a string SECURELY. Drop it in the hole. Pull until you can see the plug. Using needle nose pliers, pull it out.
