2017 mitsubishi outlander rear brake replacement

I was told that I need my rear brakes replaced on my 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander. My local Mitsubishi dealer said this would cost $500 because it is more labor intensive (2.5 hours) than a regular brake job. He said this is because of the "electric braking system" and you need a Mitsubishi tool to chance the brakes and calibrate them with the electric braking system. Is this true? $500 is a heck of a lot to spend on only rear brakes.
