My daughter was having the same problem. We took the glass out so we could see the mechanism and found that some of the plastic parts were broken. We took out some of the broken pieces and cleaned the track area and managed to get it back near closing. we put the glass back in and we were able to get the glass down where it should seat but couldn't close it tight. It shouldn't leak into the interior unless it rain real hard. We found a kit for replacing the mechanism on line for $119 but haven't placed an order yet.
