It's the little black box marked CM5200 under the dash just above my left leg. I don't seem to have anything apparent that is not working on the vehicle. The clicking just started the other day and only when ignition is on. If I play with the light switch sometimes it goes off only to start clicking again soon after. Sometimes when I accelerate or brake is stops momentarily as well.

so....no noticeable change with anything? pull it and pretend it never existed if it does nothing...you've piqued my curiosity and am going to have to pull up a schematic now...which colors are going to this connector? (i.e. red w/white stripe, green, lt. blue with white stripe..etc)...might help to get to the bottom of this puzzle~

these DO have an ignition relay...if you pull it all functions would cease and the engine would quit...kaput...if the motor stays running this couldn't be it, but found it extraordinary that Jeeps have an ignition relay.

It actually has quite a few wires, seems almost that every wire goes into that box. I also noticed that when I turn ignition off and remove the key it still clicks for some time.

you know it may be "shutting down" various systems "putting it in park" as it were....if it only clicks a little while then quits am going to say that this is totally normal...like the cooling fan that will continue to run until the motor is cool....same deal~
