Would a clogged radiator affect the AC in 2005 Jeep Liberty?

Asked by Registerboy Jun 22, 2015 at 03:25 PM about the 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

AC went out early September last year then notice that during the winter that I only had
heat when Jeep was moving.  Friend told me that it was a clogged radiator.  Was
wondering it it also affected the AC.  Bought freon with gage and the gage read over in
the red or too much pressure.  Took it as a sign of clogged radiator but thought I would
ask around.

Also if you live in an area where there is a lot of dirt and bugs in the air you may want to try and clean your A.C condenser coil and radiator with a hose and spray nozzle or better yet a pressure washer that will remove the dirt and bugs so that you will have better air flow across your A.C coil and radiator.

Yeah, I recently became aware of a coolant leak from my radiator. Upon inspection by the mechanic, he found the radiator needed replaced. At least 50% of the radiator was just caked with leaves. Now that the radiator has been replaced, my AC is working outstanding instead of poorly.
