I had the serpentine belt replaced 2 yrs ago. Im at work- I dont have anything to check the voltage with me- i know it should be 11.5-12.5..and the battery is 7yr old on 10 yr battery- can you estimate a cost on what an alternator replacement can cost?

If you put a voltmeter across the battery when the care is not running, a fully charged battery should be 12.6 volts. When the alternator is running, it should read 13.8 volts.
