Starter wont crank when turning the key...

starter went out about a month ago, so I changed out the starter and it doesnt
crank or turn over.. just silence.. I've replaced the starter, the positive cable
from the battery that goes to the starter. I even tested the starter and it does
work correctly. I've triple checked all of the fuses..they're all good... and I'm just
plain out of ideas of what else i can do to troubleshoot this

No "tick like it even wants to try? Might check the solenoid
Nope... Not even a tick... a buddy of mine had suggested it could be the ignition switch , so thats what I'm going by anyways.
could also reroute the wires for the ignition switch to a button on the dash as an additional alternative.
Shifter loose at all? I know my 97 expedition had a loose shifter so it occasionally didn't completely get into park and had no tick no crank. Try it in neutral? The solution for my shifter happened to be a loose bolt under the dash
Before going through all that hassle of the ignition, a quick test for the solenoid would be to "bridge" the terminals on it with the key on
Actually....fuel pump doesn't engage either?....when you take the steering column cover off, look at the left side of the column.....and I'm hoping that I'm wrong on this cause it requires specialty tools if it is.....straight across from the keyhole....should be a sliding piece that looks like a hollowed out key....if it broke turning the key will only unlock the steering wheel
The fuel pump engages, its just when i turn the key to tradionationally "start the truck" nothing from the starter...
Oh, ok....try bridging the solenoid to see if it's an issue there
I have ran a power wire from the battery directly to the solenoid to test it, and the solenoid tested as good. The starter did engage. I am thinking that it very well could be the ignition switch itself... because thats the only piece of it that starts the whole process of turning the truck on and starting..etc..
