Help on finding a replacement of the fuel pump module on Jeep liberty 2004

At first we thought that we needed an obvious fuel
pump replaced but instead mechanic says I
actually need the fuel pump module/filter but he's
not able to find it and neither am I. Just fuel pumps
for 2005 and over. What do I do if I can't find one
for 2004? Is there a universal one I can use? I've
searched for days and no luck anywhere.

Are you looking for the fuel pump housing assembly? The part that the fuel pump itself mounts into? Those can be found. I found a few on rockauto.com; CARTER P76256M
Yes, that's what you want. It's much easier and cheaper in the long run to replace the whole assembly. Hope that helps! Jim
Thank you for the responses. I needed both parts which was the fuel pump module assembly. The circular piece that connects to the rectangle piece. The fuel pump housing is everywhere except for the module piece. Had to get one off of ebày.

Hello, were you lucky with your problem? I have the same problem with not finding the piece of assembly. I don't find who says the assembly compatibility with the other models.
