2003 GMC Yukon Denali displays a repeating English and French language but won't let me select language

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Won't let me select English so none of the information is available like the odometer
reading etc. Thought it might be battery, so got a new one, but that didn't fix it. Not sure if
this is related, but now AC turns to hot air almost every day. Have to shut the car off and
restart it, then it gets cold again.

French une,deux,trois.....or....1,2,3 BUT....English one,two,three.....or 1,2,3 >>>>so unless your car odometer talks........get it :)
That was not what I'm asking. I'm saying that it just keeps scrolling "English" "French" but then doesn't let me select either, so NO information is available such as odometer reading etc.
sorry- I never had a car that had language options. Best I can suggest is that that kind of option means a computer chip ;means an instruction on how to use this option is in your owner's manual perhaps. The a/c acting up is a temp sensor perhaps malfunctioning and confusing the system into thinking it wants cold then telling it that it needs heat, My system works by me setting the temp I want . In the winter the heat comes on until that temp is achieved; in the summer the a/c kicks in until the temp is lowered. If mine went down to 20C in the summer and then immediatly started to heat when it hit 20 then I 'd be stuck with seeking a mechanic that could explain the problem and fix it. Finding someone who can explain & fix (without just replacing A, then oops let's try a new B,etc. ) is the bain of owning a car. IF the hot air comes only at start up then if you allow it to run it will get cold ;then the initial hot air is just the system purging itself prior to cool air coming- that's what mine does.
Forgot the obvious - if you are following the instruction step by step re:language and it doesn't work; then, you are going to need to go beyond a d.i.y. fix. (leave electonics and computers to the specialists)

This is what happen,s when you give a car a brain, sometime,s it get,s freeked out,and doe,s what it want,s to do,not what you want. And yes chass ,is right, you need to take to specialist, but i will say this,it,s not your display doing,it,,,it,s your denali,s ecm. Good luck with this
I had the same language scrolling issue on my ‘04 Yukon. After searching the interweb I came across someone who recommended changing out the button on the circuit board that is used to select trip miles, miles, language and such. Basically the switch has malfunctioned. I used Radio Shack part # 275-0002 from eBay. Super cheap. Carefully replace this switch. It fixed my issue that I’ve had for a couple of years.
