Rear driver side door is closed but says it's still open?

i had a problem with a warning coming on the display panel that says the left
rear door is open when it's not? I'm driving along and the warning/beep keeps
flashing.
i just replaced the engine then i got this problem.

i ask a mechanic and he sayed the door or the car need to re- programming, its mean hes wrong ?

I have the same problem.... says the driver side 2nd door is open, and I also can't lock the doors at all. In side or with the FOB... GOing on 2. Yrs now...
