When i take the doors off the floor lights and the dome light will not turn off. other than taping the little buttons on the frame that the doors push in when closed, how do i turn off these lights. I need these doors off.

You can buy little clips at the autoparts store, or though Jeep, that will clip onto the button to hold it down. There is nothing that comes with the car to stop the lights from going on. Just be sure to remember to take the clips off before you put the doors back on b/c when you close the door with the clip on the clip will break.
You could also pull the lower right - door defeat fuse that's in the fusebox that's accessible when you remove the glove compartment. This worked for my brother's 04 Jeep Wrangler.

Yes. Fuse pulling is the best, easiest, and cheapest method. I just posted again to better explain where the fuse is located. As "tjchan" said, remove the glovebox by sliding the check strap to the right, out of its slot. the fusebox will be something close to a square in shape. The bottom right corner fuse is the one. Just remove it and your problems are solved! Be aware that your headlight chime wont warn you that you're leaving them on when this fuse is not in place.
