Jeep grand Cherokee wants to keep running even
after the key is turned off

If the vehicle is dieseling? High cylinder compression? Hot spot in cylinder? Maybe try higher octane rating of gas, see if it helps?

When it's running for a little while it'll discharge and the rpm will drop to 0 and it revs up on its own
