sounds like the auto ,day-night switch has gone bad.should be a wire pluged in back of rear view mirror, unplug it,see if it stopes,is more of a sensor.can always turn your lights on buy the headlight switch.
Nope it's a major issue , can't fix it unless u got bucks
Why is my jeep Sahara lights coming on and off all night long. It’s set on auto. Even if I turn them off they still came on
Jeep has blamed the multi-function switch in mine, TWICE. The light switch does NOT stop my lights from strobing or turning themselves on whenever the hell they want but it will activate my windshield wipers (which have their own switch on the other side of the steering wheel!) . Last visit, the tech said it was NOT the multi-function switch but rather a short or bad wiring connection within the steering column yet he replaced the switch again and stated on the work receipt that it was due to a failure within the switch! No mention made of any further wiring issues, in spite of what he stated he discovered after 4+hours of diagnostics. Am dropping it off for its third visit to the dealership for the exact same issue. This time with Jeep Corporate involved. Clearly it’s NOT the switch, hence why Jeep Corporate was asked to intervene. My advice? Contact them, get a case# and let them take charge of the issue. If enough owners contact them, maybe they’ll have to do a recall since seems to be a pretty common problem.

Had this happened twice on my wife's 2010 Cherokee. Both times it was just before the battery went out (of course, at the most inopportune moment~!). MOPAR batteries are rated for 36 months, but rarely last more than 24. Jeeps eat clutches and batteries; that's why my 2015 Sahara has an automatic, and I replaced the battery with an Optima 34 Series. It was a little expensive ($275), but the service manager at my neighborhood shop (not Jeep / Chrysler dealer) said I'd never have to worry about the battery again! (We'll see ... ~! So far, so good.)

Please everyone call to report "haunted headlights" to National Safety... at 800-992-1997 so that a recall can be issued. Happening to my 2007 Jeep Wrangler also!
