Steering or suspension problem

Asked by Mpost724 Sep 22, 2016 at 01:59 PM about the 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I have a 2000 jeep wrangler TJ 4×4. It sat for
almost a year because I was away. While preparing
it for inspection I noticed that my steering seems
to be floating. It's Very hard to keep it straight and
in control. The Tech who did the inspection said it
seemed like it won't get back on track.... Amy idea
or advice would be greatly appreciated

Check: tie rod ends, rag joint/steering coupler, or steering gear/pitman arm. Any shop that can do alignment should be able to tell you straight away what is wrong with the steering.
