Question type: General

I keep having a problem with my jeep is started a couple of months ago. When I have the
engine on and in the parked position it is idling to high and check engine light is on.
When I put it into reverse is acts like it wants to cut off? I have had the mechanic clear
the codes and every time it says engine is to hot and engine is to cold. What should I do?
The mechanic that I go to doesn't want to mess with it.

I would check the temperature sensor and maybe new thermostat.

Would also check and clean Throttle Body and Idle Air Control Valve.
