1969 ford falcon starts but have to keep on the gas to keep running or it shuts off

I just replaced fuel pump and carbourter. And
it's still doing the same thing. 200 inline 6
engine.

Vacuum leak perhaps. I would adjust the choke and idle on the carb.

Ive tried to adjust the choke and idle and checked for vacuum leaks. How ever I haven't tried to adjust the timing so I'll try that. Thanks
