Should I fix it?

I have a 99 Cherokee with 109K on it. Needs brakes, tires, and suffers from a death rattle at 50MPH. Estimates are about $700 to fix shake. I'm figuring it's about $1800 worth of repairs. I love the car, but not sure if it's worth another $1,800.
Looking for opinions.

IF that is ALL it needs, rattle could be many things but if you have an estimate of $700 somebody apparently diagnosed it, brakes and tires, like I say if that is all that's wrong, keep her.. Easy for me to say I know but car payments are pain-in- the-behind
Depends on if you want to put $1800 in a $3500 truck...
Good point Randy. hundet, you may get another 50,000 miles out of it, or something else could go wrong and it becomes a money pit that you wasted $1800 on, except you could salvage some of that money back with the tires, tires are like new cars, if you pay, say, $400 for a set the second they are mounted on your truck and you hit the street, 1 mile later you would be lucky to get $250 for them but at least that's something
Thanks guys - I think I'm going to get it fixed. I found a beautiful 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup with 57,000 miles and the price was right. Was ready to sign the papers, but then realized that I almost bought a truck that is only 3 years newer, and doesn't get any better gas mileage. Why pay $9,500 when I can fix mine and get another 3 - 5 years out of it.
