U joints

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I was told by a mechanic that I needed to replace
the passenger side inner and outer u joints on my
99 jeep wrangler. One at the outside end of the axle
and 1 inside the differential? Never heard of 1
being in the differential

Not sure what you are asking. There is no U joint in the differentials. Perhaps at the transfer case?
Nah, he definitely said inside the front differential. I looked and the axle goes directly into the differential nothing between the axle and differential. No cv joints either just Ujoints except by the transmission
He also said the same thing needs to be done on the driver side now. So 4 u joints total on the front axle
Your Jeep Wrangler has a straight front axle, not independent suspension. Is this guy a liar or an idiot?
Pretty sure a liar trying to get over on me. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't mistaken. Don't know much about differentials
I would not go back but if you do make him show you these phantom U joints.
