Small leak near axel seal

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone can identify this leak, or if it is a leak at all?
I think it might be the axle seal. So far there are no oil drops on the ground,
just a thin lining of an unidentifiable liquid on the undercarriage, next to the
front right wheel.
Also, as you can see in the photo, just above the oil tank there is some
thread without a nut in it.. is there supposed to be something there?

From the pictures. It is either transmission fluid at the seal between the CV axle and the transmission or the grease coming out of the inner boot of the CV axle.
