Taking the fuel filter off!! Is it under
pressure?

Yes, you can relieve the fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump relay or fuse, then cranking the engine. The engine may run briefly until it uses up the fuel in the line. When it dies you can remove the filter. Don't forget to replace the fuse or relay when the job is done.
