has there been a recall on the peeling clear coat?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I purchased a 2002 Honda Accord this week and like it but the clear coat is peeling on the roof and some on the hood and trunk. Has there been any recalls on this problem?

It is very rare for an auto manufacturer to create a recall due to paint clear coat, not saying it has not been done. Being that your car is over 10 years old and that fact that clear coat comes up over time when a car is left out in the sun for many years, I truly feel any "re-coating" of the clear coat most certainly will be coming out of your pocket.

My clear coat started coming off at 10000 miles. I was told it was not the dealers fault and they would not fix it. Now 10 years later I drive a sante fe and tell everyone not to buy one and what happened to me.
I have a 2001 Honda Accord I purchased new and the clear coat started peeling off the hood, trunk, and roof a few years ago. I also called the dealer and Honda itself, however they both claimed that this has never been heard of. I've done some research and there are numerous postings about this same issue. I may not purchase another Honda unfortunately for this very reason. My husband and I are embarrassed to be seen driving it.

My clear coat has been peeling for a few years now. My car runs great but it looks awful. I see so many Honda accords like mine in the same condition.

GuruTBRPW, what color is your 2013 Honda Accord?
don't buy a Honda until they fix the problem. This should be a recall. Seeing them out on the streets only makes you think less of them.
