Check engine/check gauges/airbag lights all flash on and off randomly. Why?

Asked by iamdevo Sep 09, 2013 at 02:05 PM about the 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just like the question says. It's totally random. Any combination of the three lights will be
on at once. Someone told me there's no way the three lights flashing are related to each
other unless it's an electrical problem. Is this right?

These buggies had problems with the elect. connector at the inst. cluster. I would remove cluster, push cluster into place and remove it several times to help clean pins, and then reinstall it with the screws. drive it and see if prob. goes away. Jeep makes a replacement connector. Its usually one on rt. side. Green I think. Hope this helps.....
