'97 Jeep Cherokee Sport loses all power upon turning the ignition.

Asked by Oui_v Apr 02, 2014 at 01:02 AM about the 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This happened a few times when I first bought the car. A friend had told me to disconnect
the negative gable for few seconds and that would fix it. Sure enough, it worked. That was
ten years ago. It started happening again this week. Now I have to disconnect the battery
completely a few times before it starts again. Brand new battery and it still happens. Any
ideas?
