We own a 2017 Subaru Impreza that has guzzled oil since the day we drove it new off the dealership lot. We are considering, perhaps foolishly, buying a 2022 Impreza. Has Subaru fixed the well-documented oil problems on new Imprezas?

I would say you would still be dealing with similar issues. But check the reviews of some owners.
