Stalling and rough iddle

Asked by Kymerkat Feb 11, 2019 at 06:07 PM about the 1995 Jeep Cherokee SE 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After driving approx. 20 or so Miles, my 1995, Jeep
Grand Cherokee Larado 4.0 / 6 cycinder.will stall at
a light or just cut off and come to a stop . It will
only restart after about 20 or 30 minutes.
Otherwise it will only turn over with no spark. The
truck runs great other then that problem. Starts
first time every time in morning. If I don't go to far
you would never know that there is a problem.

Check your crank shaft position sensor first. On this vehicle its located on the top of the transmission bell housing just about the 1:00 oclock position if you are looking at the engine from the front toward the driver position. If that doesn't cure it check the coil.
