how do I tell if the rear end on a 95 Jeep Cherokee 2wd is the same as the rear
end 95 jeep Cherokee 4wd. I have to two 95 jeep Cherokee sports one 2wd
one 4wd. Will the rear ends match with drive ratio? changing 2wd to 4wd.

There should be aluminum ID tags on one of the bolts for the rear diff cover. If they're missing the only way to find out what the gearing is, is to remove the rear diff cover. Look for the stamping on the edge of the ring gear or worst case scenario count how many turns of the input flange it takes to turn the axles one rotation. Example, 3.5 turns on the input would be a 3.50:1 ratio
