Driver-side taillight not working properly

Asked by pitman_arm Sep 23, 2015 at 09:53 AM about the 1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,
I have a '95 YJ Rio Grande. The driver side taillight has running lights, but
NO blinker, stop light, or emergency flasher. The passenger side works
properly.
I have determined that it is not the socket itself, but haven't been able to
figure out where the wires originate. Of course the previous owner(s) have
altered the wiring in various ways...
Any help would be much appreciated.
Brad

even though the wiring codes might be different on the right side, you should still take that side apart and see what goes where..

I found the problem. I traced this wire that looks like it's plugged into a small heat sink, or something. Is this stock? (hopefully the pic will load)
