dash and running lights went out

Asked by jcb7777 Nov 17, 2013 at 12:20 PM about the 1999 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab SB

Left key in ignition and went home and got spare key. went back and started engine. ran fine on the way home the dash illumination lights went out, later noticed that the running lights also.
any suggestions

They are controlled by the same circuit. Check for blown fuse. Also check for possibly bad lighting relay.

Thanks, I was looking in the wrong fuse box. Found blown fuse. But blown instant after replacing. Turned dimmer switch to off and lights to off replaced fuse. Works! turned lights to on position. Still works. turned dimmer to partly on. still works. Scared to turn dimmer to full on position. LOL

I have a 04 ford ranger 3.0 is not a 4x4 my dash lights work fine when I first turn on the truck but after I drive for ten minutes my dash lights goes out and all my marker lights too anybody has had the same problem

On a 2002 ford ranger 3.0, I found 2 number 33 fuses, one under the hood fuse box and one on the side drive side panel. Please check both. My dash dimmer is out, I changed switches and still no answer, I am not able to get dash going. I notice the LB/RD that go to the cluster have no power. Dose, any body have a clue
