Not really. Sometimes it depends on what is in the car now. There is green antifreeze and it lasts around three years and yellow/orange antifreeze that's around five years. Make sure the type you buy will mix with what you have. --- Are you losing coolant? Is there white smoke in the exhaust? Did you blow a head gasket?

Not what is anything "special", but what your owners manual calls for, green ethylene glycol or the red/brown polyethylene glycol or propylene glycol

First. measure your actual coolant temp, or use the sniff test under the hood, to see if it is really running hot or just a bad sender or gauge. Then, start by flushing the cooling system, replace the thermostat and radiator cap with one with correct pressure. As long as you have a good thermostat, correct pressure cap, and clean radiator, your chances of overheating are slim. If it still truly overheats, look for collapsed radiator hoses, and replace the water pump.
