Ignition won't turn

The battery died on our 2005 Nissan Elgrand E51,
we tried to jump start it, the alarm came on but the
battery wouldn't turn over & the the ignition won't
turn. Does anyone know why?

Batteries don't turn over, only engines. You must mean the starter did not engage. The battery might have a shorted cell not allowing you to jump start it. Start with removing the battery and having a local garage or auto parts store test it for you.

check the ground cable to motor. cable may be bad . jump motor to battery . also check ground to fender
