My daughters jeep started overheating.

Asked by jawws Jul 06, 2012 at 12:01 PM about the 1992 Jeep Cherokee 2-Door RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently my daughters jeep started to over heat, I changed out thermostat, hoses, flushed the radiator, replace water pump, belts, and sensor.  Still overheating to the point that transmission has started using "limp in mode" any time she tries to accelerate hard ie. on ramps

Normal question. Did you change the radiator cap as well? Typically you change it at the same time as the thermostat (since they work together). Check around (and in the oil) for leaks. Any loss in pressure (ie: leaks, faulty radiator cap) will cause the vehicle to overheat also.
