Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I suspect my corsa bakkie is mixing oil and water because when i opened the
oil cap it had a greyish colour but when checking the dipstick the oil is black,
what could be the problem?

you shouldn't let the oil get black but it doesn't matter you probably have a blown head gasket if there's white emulsion under the oil fill cap ,probably over heating too , , what does the exhaust look like ?

A bad PCV can also cause emulsified oil. Pop the PCV hose off and look at the hose and valve's condition, if it's fouled clean or replace those.

If the oil is good and free of water / oil emulsion and the grey goop is only on the inside of the filler cap then I would not worry about it. Also this being a diesel, the black colored oil is perfectly normal.
