Why did my 2005 Kia Rio come with no radio it came from factory like this?

The Rio came with a factory radio, one of the past owners of the vehicle removed it and installed a delete plate. You can find another used factory radio from a salvage yard or ebay. It will run you around $60. Might be better to spend around $100 for a nice aftermarket one with the proper wiring and instructions on installation. Check out crutch field.com
Remove the delete plate and I bet the radio wiring is there. As TDolby said you can buy a replacement radio a put it right in there. Why did the vehicle come without a radio? Probably some very old person bought it new and didn't want a radio. Many many years ago you had to pay extra for a radio. So the person probably thought they were saving money buy having the Dealer remove the radio before they bought the vehicle! They probably would have deleted the heater too, if they could have! Before 1968 a heater was an extra cost option too! LOL! Hope that helps! Jim
