Take the inside door panel off, and the window has to be up. There should be two bolts that are holding the outside handle. Follow the metal linkage to the were the door latch is were the door latches on to. Take the screws/bolts out and you might have to replace it.
this should have been a recall as evryone of them does it , what I have to do . go outside and put key in and flip it back and forth till it releases...Mine is passengers side.. As well as remotes quit working, these cars are a piece of crap.Would never buy another one

If you have basic mechanical ability: prop open the window slot (window down) with a plastic wedge. Using a flashlight and a can of rust penetrant, spray the latch assembly liberally with the penetrant. Take a long 2.5-3 foot screw driver or hose pick and wiggle the levers extending from the latch assembly. Alternately, use the remote door lock fob to exercise the door locks. After moving all locks and handles at least 30 times, perform all functions while observing through the window slot. Pay special attention to the lock actuating lever on top (it has a spring loaded lever connected to the outer door handle) Be sure this is moving freely. The typical problem is a cam which enables the door handles. This cam is internal to the latch body and when worn out inhibits the lock actuator from engaging the handles. If unsuccessful after initial attempts, repeat all steps with extra lube on the latch body. Once the door unlatches and opens, do not close the door again until the strike pin (metal loop) is removed from the door frame. Replace the latch or drive to the dealer to have it replaced there.
