Need help with transmission

Asked by Daniel Jun 15, 2020 at 11:52 AM about the 2003 Kia Sedona LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought an as is 2003 kia sedona
minivan. I found a leak underneath
which is either oil or tranny fluid not
sure cause the fluid that's in the is so
old it's resembles oil color so I'm
changing that today. Does it have a
filter if so where? And is it easy to get
the fluid pan off cause I've been told
there's a screen or filter in there as well
I should change. I've ordered the gasket
already.

If your tranny fluid is anything but pink it should be changed , Even if you drop the pan you don't get it all , Un-dimple the bolt holes in the pan so that the bolts will seal it .. I send a hose down the fill tube and use an old shop vac to suck out what's there , then replace with new ,
