Clicking noise at low speeds in new Toyota Camry 2018 XLE I4 with less than 500 miles. It varies with speed, but goes away at very low and high speeds. The noise lasts 10 to 15 seconds. The dealer cannot find the cause, but it is getting louder.
I have a new 2018 Toyota Camry XLE I4 with less than 500 miles. When we drive it at slow speeds periodically we hear a clicking sound that lasts 10 to 15 seconds in the left front of the car. It goes away at higher speeds. It occurs most often at speeds under 20 mph. It is getting louder over time. It sounds kind of like a card in spokes, or a spring loaded nut on a lag screw popping off the end of the screw. I have recorded the sound and taken it to the dealer, but he cannot find it. He thought it might be part of the air conditioning vent actuator, but it is not. It varies with the speed of the car. Sometimes it is preceded by a low grinding noise at speeds of around 5 mph.
I am afraid to drive it much until I find out what is wrong. Does anyone know how I might isolate the cause of this noise?
